Local-made ‘Pompi’ guns seized in Manipur’s Tengnoupal

Manipur security forces on Friday recovered a large cache of weapons including seven local-made ‘Pompi’ guns from Pallel Aimol village in Tengoupal district of Manipur.

Imphal, Manipur, April 13 (HBTV): Manipur security forces on Friday recovered a large cache of weapons including seven local-made ‘Pompi’ guns from Pallel Aimol village in Tengoupal district of Manipur.                



Six persons have been detained in this connection during search operations that followed. A statement by the police control said the security forces were able to recover huge amounts of articles during the search operations which could be used in warlike activities and insurgency.                   



The police control room reported the recovered items were a DBBL gun, four SBBL guns, locally made ‘Pompi’ guns, and gun cartridges. The security forces also recovered two bulletproof jackets, two local-made bulletproof plates, a helmet, and four Baofeng handheld sets.                      



Interestingly, two Indian motorcycles and two Burmese motorcycles are also found besides cash books and seals etc.
